Bottled water to be distributed amidst weekend-long outage in the Anapra area

SUNLAND PARK, New Mexico (KVIA) -- The City of Sunland Park released the following statement regarding the current outage caused by a water line break that happened Friday, September 4, in the Anapra area:

"The City of Sunland Park is working closely with the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority as CRRUA crews respond to a series of breaks on a single water line in the Anapra area. CRRUA has informed the City the breaks resulted from construction activity related to fiber optic cabling, and both agencies are coordinating to keep residents informed and supported. Affected residents may experience low or no water pressure while repairs continue.

City staff are working alongside CRRUA to deliver bottled water to every impacted household. We are grateful to the CRRUA crews working to restore service and to our City staff on the ground in Anapra, and we thank residents for their patience. We know an outage like this disrupts daily life, and we appreciate the community’s understanding while service is restored."

Officials did not say how many cases of water would be distributed to those impacted or when water service will be restored to the area.
