Amazon and Wiwynn say their expansion into Socorro will open around 1,000 new jobs

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Wednesday, server manufacturer Wiwynn and Amazon hosted a ribbon-cutting to celebrate their expansion into Socorro.

They announced a major expansion of Wiwynn’s advanced manufacturing operations.

The multi-billion-dollar project will strengthen the domestic supply chain for Amazon’s cloud infrastructure and create nearly 1,000 advanced manufacturing jobs by the end of 2027.

The expansion builds on Wiwynn’s $1.6 billion investment in its El Paso-area facility, its first manufacturing site in the United States. Total headcount at the Socorro operation is projected to cross 2,500 next year, with plans to reach 4,000 employees once both onsite buildings operate at full production capacity.
