-And the chance to get slimed.

Worldwide Day of Play is part of Nickelodeon’s Our World global initiative to inspire kids and provide them with tools to activate their individual and collective agency.
Something La Nube Chief Strategy Officer Mick Martinez said the STEAM center wants to embrace, saying this celebration is one for the entire community.
"This is a national, initiative to really bring families and the community together to really understand the importance of play within the community," Martinez said.
Getting to experience the infamous Nickelodeon slime was one of the highlights for the children, one who spoke to ABC-7 described their experience getting slimed as 'awesome'.
Martinez said beyond the fun of the slime for the kids this was also for the parents as he talked about the opportunity to create memories through play for the families that attended.
"The most important thing is really enjoying play with your family," Martinez said. "Understand the importance of, you know what, you can play with your child, you can create memories together and at the same time have fun in a very unique, safe environment."
La Nube wanted the day to be truly open to every family according to Martinez, who said the STEAM center offered WIC and SNAP recipients $5 tickets to enjoy the center in addition to the free block party.
The fun and the community aspect of the event was what one parent who brought his family, Marshall Clere, liked most about the day in addition to live music.
"I like that we're able to come together as a community and a younger generation of kids are able to perform and show their art while still enjoying slime and Nickelodeon characters and being a kid," Clere said.
To visit the exhibits inside La Nube a general admission ticket is required and for more information on the event or La Nube click here.
