Socorro police investigating shooting at park that injured 4

Update: A Socorro Police Department spokesperson clarified Thursday that the four men injured in the shooting took themselves to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials say that cars sped away from the scene following the shooting. The do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.

The Socorro Police Department continues to investigate the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers of El Paso.


EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- At least four people were wounded in a shooting at Jardin de Flores park in Socorro Wednesday evening, according to The City of Socorro.

The shooting happened just after 6 p.m. No arrests have been announced.

The City of Socorro said the four victims were taken to the hospital. They were listed in stable condition.

A city spokesperson said there is no immediate threat to the public.
