Update (March 4, 2025): El Paso Police arrested Antonio Rodriguez, 47, and charged him with murder in the crash at Wyoming and Piedras that killed a pedestrian.

Police have not yet identified the pedestrian, describing him only as a man in his early 20s.

Crimes Against Persons detectives say the unidentified man was inside Rodriguez's car when a fight happened. Then police officials say that Rodriguez "intentionally ran over the victim." The man died from his injuries at the hospital.

Officers booked Rodriguez into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $500,000 bond. His bond hearing is scheduled for 8:30 AM tomorrow.


Update: El Paso Police say that the woman injured in the motorcycle crash on the US-54/I-10 ramp has died. They identified her as 20 Year-old Las Cruces resident Isbella Rose Mendez.

Special Traffic Investigators say that the driver of the motorcycle was going "at a high rate of speed on US-54 South," when he struck the left barrier. Mendez was thrown from the motorcycle.

Emergency crews rushed Mendez and the driver to the hospital.

Police say this is the 9th traffic fatality of the year, compared with 11 this time last year.


UPDATE: El Paso Fire Department has confirmed two people are now in the hospital after the pedestrian collision on Wyoming and Piedras. One person has serious injuries, and the other person has minor injuries.

This is in addition to the one person brought to the hospital with serious injuries in the US-54 motorcycle crash.


UPDATE: El Paso Fire Department has offered a correction that no one has died in the US-54 motorcycle crash. As of now, two people are in the hospital with serious injuries.

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- At least two people are in the hospital with serious injuries after two separate overnight collisions in Central El Paso.

The US-54 south ramp onto I-10 has been closed after a woman received serious injuries in a motorcycle crash. According to El Paso Police, the crash happened around 1 a.m. on March 3.

Hours before, one man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a vehicle along Wyoming and Piedras at 9:30 p.m.
