Update (July 2, 2025): Special Traffic Investigators say Cody Arthur McCuan, 24, died in the crash that happened at the intersection of Mesa and Robinson in West El Paso last night.

Investigators say a car left a parking lot and got onto Robinson. As the driver pulled out into Mesa, McCuan t-boned the car, according to investigators. McCuan was riding a 2016 Kymco K Pipe motorcycle at the time. First responders had originally reported that McCuan was riding a motorized scooter.

McCuan died at the hospital. The driver of the car was unharmed.

Investigators say a failure to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign on behalf of the driver and speed on behalf of McCuan were both contributing factors to the crash.
