(KVIA) -- Country singer-songwriter Dolly Parton has died at 80 years old, according to her nephew. She was 80 years old.

Bryan Seaver, Parton's nephew, posted a video on X Monday. No cause of death was mentioned.

"Dolly has lived in the light and is in the arms of Jesus," Seaver said. "Dolly opened doors not just for me, but for her entire family to reach the potential we didn't even know was possible."

Seaver also said Parton opened doors for other singers, songwriters, musicians and dreamers.

"By her example, we believed that anything was possible," he said.

Beyond her music, the country icon was known for her philanthropy and theme park in Tennessee, Dollywood.
