WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House says President Joe Biden has been interviewed as part of the special counsel investigation into his handling of classified documents. Spokesperson Ian Sams says Biden was voluntarily interviewed on Sunday and Monday. The investigation is being led by special counsel Robert Hur, who is looking into the improper retention of classified documents from Biden’s time as a U.S. senator and as vice president. Documents were found in Biden’s Delaware home and a private office he used after the vice presidency. Sams said the interview was conducted over the weekend as Biden and his national security team grappled with their response to the surprise attack on Israel by Hamas. Biden has received some criticism for not being more visible during the crisis.
