MEXICO CITY (AP) — A wave of violence killed least 19 people in Mexico’s southwestern states of Guerrero and Michoacan on Monday. Authorities say a local security secretary and 12 police officers were shot dead in a town on Guerrero’s Pacific coast, while a community leader was slain in the state capital.
