Police: 8 children rescued in California after their mother abducted them from Arkansas foster homes

ANDERSON, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say they rescued eight children in California after they were abducted by their biological mother and found roughly 1,500 miles from their foster homes in Arkansas. That’s according to the Anderson Police Department in Northern California. The 36-year-old mother had allegedly lost her custodial rights. Law enforcement in Arkansas issued a warrant for her arrest. She was taken into custody in Anderson early Saturday morning. Details about the abductions and why the mother had lost custody of her children were not immediately available. An Arkansas attorney who had represented the woman in a previous case said she was no longer his client.
