Juárez virus death toll hits 80, with 399 confirmed cases

CUIDAD JUAREZ, Mexico -- The death toll from the coronavirus rose by two on Sunday for a total of 80 in Juarez, health officials said.

Meantime, the total number of Juarez virus cases reached 399, with 24 additional cases from the previous day.

Officials this past week disclosed that 20 doctors and 17 nurses were among those who had contracted the virus in Juarez.

In the state of Chihuahua, the confirmed cases of Covid-19 on Sunday reached just shy of the 600 mark, at 597, with 98 total deaths.

Statewide, 265 people are hospitalized, with 82 listed as stable and the rest in severe condition.

Out of the total cases to date in Chihuahua state, health officials stated that 40 people had recovered.
