Samaniego seeks to vaccinate Juarez before border reopens

EL PASO, Texas -- El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego is in talks with Ciudad Juarez officials to open a vaccination hub in El Paso that would administer the Covid-19 vaccine to people from Juarez.

The judge wants to help increase the vaccination rate in Juarez before the possibility of the U.S.-Mexico border opening with no restrictions on non-essential travel.

Right now, the restrictions on non-essential travel could end by June 21.

“I’m going to do everything possible to have hubs, mega-sites for people, that when they do open, that they can go into the Coliseum or different places like that to protect to protect them and protect their community,” Samaniego explained.
