Resort-living community set to break ground in northeast El Paso

EL PASO, Texas -- Franklin Mountain Communities announced the plans for Campo del Sol, a master-planned community, in northeast El Paso that lies next to the Painted Dunes golf course.

The community will be over 2,300 acres and include resort-style living at an affordable price, according to a news release.

The community will have 9,500 residential units, 300 acres of commercial development, and 135 acres of park land with open spaces and trails, the release explained. The developers, Scarborough Lane Development, and Franklin Mountain Communities are branding this area as "North El Paso."

“We are committed to developing a community that will not only set the stage for quality growth in north El Paso but also continue the tremendous renaissance of our city and its quality of life," Paul Foster, the majority investor in the project, said.

The project will break ground this summer and they estimate some homes will be ready to move in by Spring 2022.
