SWAT situation prompts brief lockout of El Paso’s Irvin High; situation resolved without incident

EL PASO, Texas -- Irvin High School was briefly placed on lockout Tuesday as police responded to a SWAT situation in a nearby neighborhood.

Police were called out to a home near the intersection of Fairfax and Downs in northeast El Paso around 9 a.m.

A police officer on scene told ABC-7 they received reports that a man posed a "threat to himself." The situation was resolved without incident in less than an hour with no arrests made and no injuries.

The school lockout was lifted just after 10 a.m.
