MGN

HORIZON, Texas -- El Paso County Sheriff's deputies on Wednesday identified a man who was struck and killed by a car while crossing the street in Horizon earlier in the week.

The victim was 38-year-old Samuel Josue Hernandez.

Investigators said he was in a crosswalk at the intersection of Horizon Boulevard and Bowdoin Street when he was struck about 6 p.m. Monday.

Hernandez died at the scene.

An ABC-7 crew at the scene observed that the intersection was well-lit.

There was no word Wednesday from sheriff's officials as to whether the driver, who was not named, would face any charges in the death.
