EL PASO, Texas -- Congresswoman Veronica Escobar and German Green Party Chairman Robert Habeck took a tour of Walmart Memorial at Ponder Park. Both politicians paid their respects to the lives lost during the August 3rd mass shooting at the Cielo Vista Walmart.

While Habeck paid respect for all the victims he had a chance to pay his respects to a German National that was killed. Habeck expressed his commitment to stand together in confronting the global challenge of violence and racial hatred.

"Reunifying east and west Germany with the help of the American people, we learned from the U.S. that cooperation unilateralism solidarity is good and it's the future we should work for and believe in," German Green Party Chairman Robert Habeck said.

Habeck led the party's succesful campaign in the 2019 European Parliament elections. He is an advocate for a stronger European union, a more ambitious climate agenda, and more humane migration policies.
