EL PASO, Texas -- Abundant Living Faith Center, El Pasoans Fighting Hunger and Hands of Hope came together to distribute 2,500 families who are being impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

On Friday, hundreds of cars lined up outside Abundant Living Faith Center's east location beginning at 6 a.m. A line of vehicles coming into the church parking lot extended all the way to the intersection of North Loop and Lee Trevino. More than 300 volunteers packed food, masks, paper towels, toilet paper, and toys for kids like basketballs, footballs, soccer balls for families that attended.

Abundant Living Faith Center already partners with El Pasoans Fighting Hunger three times a week. Their west side location serves between 1,000 to 1,500 families every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Pastor Charles Nieman said Friday's mega-food pantry was a chance to help those in need in a larger capacity.

"We know there are people in our city that our struggling and we’re glad that we can bring all of these volunteers, all of this property, all these things to bear and make this partnership work to impact the lives of people who really need it,” Nieman said.
