EL PASO, Texas -- About 4,880 El Paso Electric customers were without power late Saturday morning in far east El Paso and Horizon.

The electrical outage was reported around 10:30 am. and utility crews worked quickly at a substation to restore service to residents and businesses around noon.

El Paso Electric spokesman Javier Camacho said Saturday's outage was not related to another one on Thursday afternoon and evening triggered by a substation issue also in far east El Paso.

The electric company said it was still trying to determining what caused Saturday's outage.
