1 dead, 1 in serious condition after shooting in Segundo Barrio

UPDATE: Police confirm one man is dead after shooting in Segundo Barrio Sunday afternoon.

Police said the man was 51-years-old, and another female victim, who is in serious condition, is 66-years-old.

Police said it happened outside the Jalisco Cafe restaurant.

They said one young male has been detained and they suspect it to be domestic related, according to police.

Police said no information indicates there are other dangers to the neighborhood. 

Hector Chavez, owner of the restaurant where the shooting happened, said he heard the gunshots and called 911.

Chavez told ABC-7 that he witnessed a man lying on the floor with a gunshot in his head.

He said the female involved was grazed by a bullet on her forehead and that he brought out paper towels to assist with the bleeding while they waited for first responders to arrive.

He said he recognized the man as a customer of his.

EL PASO, Texas -- Police officials say a man and woman were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries after being shot.

It happened at 1029 E. 7th street shorty after 3:00 p.m.

Police are responding to the suspected shooter's house nearby.

No other information is available at this time.
