World-renowned artist to build mural with trash downtown

EL PASO, Texas -- A Portuguese artist will be making his way to the Borderland to create mural with your trash.

It's all apart of Green Hope Project's effort to spark a conversation on conserving our region's animals.

The artist, Bordalo II, will install a 64-foot mountain lion mural on west wall of the ONE San Jacinto Plaza building in Downtown El Paso later this month. This would be his first mural in the entire state of Texas.

There will be a fundraising at the Alamo Drafthouse West on Saturday, August 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m

There will be a movie screening of Deep in the Heart: A Texas Wildlife Story, narrated by Matthew McConaughey and a short screening of the Bordalo II documentary, Life of Waste.

There will be art vendors and educational booths too.

The group is also looking for sponsors.
