Dia de Los Muertos Festival to take over downtown El Paso

EL PASO, Texas - It's an tradition important to Mexican culture. Dia de Los Muertos is right around the corner - a time to honor those we've lost. This year the City of El Paso's Museum and Cultural Affairs department is gearing up for their annual Dia de Los Muertos Festival.

It's taking over downtown El Paso Saturday, October 29 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The parade begins at 4 p.m. on Santa Fe St.

Enjoy live music, performances, as well as hands-on activities, and a themed Streetcar ride just to name a few.

You can make skeleton wands and giant calaveras at the El Paso Museum of Art from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can also expect Alebrije mask painting there as well.

Sand Art of Oaxaca will be on display from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. at the El Paso Museum of History.

There will be a Sugar Skull Workshop at 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. $15 for members; $19 for non-members; $17 for City of El Paso employees.
