El Paso business owners invited to network, get information on government contracts

City of El Paso

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) - The City of El Paso Purchasing and Strategic Sourcing Department will host the largest business networking opportunity in the Southwest, the 2019 Cooperative Purchasing Expo from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, at the Judson F. Williams Convention Center.

The Cooperative Purchasing Expo is an opportunity for area businesses to grow by learning how they can participate in cooperative contracts used by governmental agencies across the country. Cooperative agreements provide vendors with the opportunity to have their goods and services sold in large quantities nationwide. Resource partners will be providing information on bonding, financing, state and federal certifications and more on how to do business with government agencies.

The Expo will consist of breakout sessions with a wide variety of topics to benefit small businesses as well as an opportunity for attendees to visit exhibitor booths and network throughout the day. Keynote speaker Gary Bradt will offer a dynamic presentation on how individuals and leaders can become resilient in the face of change. As a clinical psychologist, business owner, author and keynote speaker, Gary provides a one-of-a-kind conversation that combines science and heart with practical takeaways. "Navigating change successfully means being willing to change yourself first," said Gary Bradt.

The Expo is free and open to the public. This event will include a Hole-in-One contest with a chance to win a car as well as other amazing prizes.

More information is available online under the 2019 Cooperative Purchasing Expo banner at www.elpasotexas.gov or by calling the Purchasing and Strategic Sourcing Department at 915-212-0043.
