How to combat the “blah” feeling you might be experiencing during the pandemic

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- During the pandemic, many people feel a sense of apathy about their life. Experts are using the term "languishing" to describe the feeling of losing excitement about daily activities.

"We've most likely experienced it at some point. It's essentially kind of the in-between of you're not really depressed, but you're not really the picture of wellbeing," said Dr. Melanie Longhurst, a psychologist with Texas Tech Physicians of El Paso.

Dr. Longhurst said there are a few ways to combat the feeling. She said it is first important to admit how you're feeling, then find an activity or project you enjoy. Break that activity or project into small steps.

She also recommends implementing a practice of gratitude.
