Man with gunshot to chest in northeast El Paso declines prosecution, arrested for criminal warrant from New Mexico

UPDATE (05/13): El Paso police have identified a shooting victim in Northeast El Paso Thursday as 24-year-old Cesar Isaac Hernandez. Hernandez was treated at University Medical Center. According to investigators, Hernandez gave different accounts of what happened.

Hernandez was released but was later arrested due to a criminal warrant from New Mexico.

EL PASO, Texas – Police said one person was shot in Northeast El Paso Thursday night.

It happened around 9:30 P.M. on the 4900 block of Guadalupe Drive. That's a neighborhood east of US 54 between Dyer and Diana.

Dispatchers told ABC-7 the victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police said no arrests have been made.

The victim has not been identified.

  1. Great investigative reporting isn’t it? Someone flatulated in NE El Paso and it smelled down all the way to the border where it blended with the flatulence coming north. Culprits unknown.

    1. Actually it isn’t but it’s still a bad area. If this loser had a warrant out of New Mexico he’s probably from Chaparral. Lots of criminal activity coming out of Chaparral across the state line into parts of NE.

  2. If criminals are gonna shoot each other, they need to work on their aim. Like the Florida sheriff said, to save tax payers money!
