Donations needed for Afghan refugees at Fort Bliss

EL PASO, Texas -- As Afghan refugees have made their way to the Borderland, many people from the community want to know what they can do to help. 

The Armed Services YMCA is collecting items that will go directly towards the refugees at Fort Bliss. 

The organization is in need of clothing including long skirts, women’s long pants, men’s long sleeve shirts, t-shirts, men’ long pants and Hijabs.

The organization is also asking for children’s and infant clothing, light jackets and new undergarments for men, women and children. Other requested items include footwear such as sandals, shower slip-ons and boots. 

The ASYMCA is also asking for hair brushes, nail clipper, tote bags and gym bags. And it is requesting toys- balls and board games only.

If you would like to donate items to the ASYMCA, you will have to schedule your drop off by messaging them on their Facebook page. 

The organization is asking for new items preferably, you can find their Amazon wish list by clicking here. However, lightly used items are also acceptable, but they must be clean before donating.

  • YMCA OF EL PASO: 810 WYOMING AVENUE, EL PASO,TX
  • JUNIOR ENLISTED FAMILY CENTER: 2004 SHERIDAN ROAD, FORT BLISS, TEXAS

The organization will be accepting donations until there is no longer a need.
