A new era of healthcare benefits for Veterans exposed to harmful substances

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The PACT Act is a law that expands VA health care and benefits for Veterans. Due to being exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances from Vietnam, Gulf War, and post-9/11. This law aims to make it easier for veterans to access VA medical care, including mental health services and counseling.

The PACT Act also extends the period of eligibility for health care for veterans with combat service.

Benefit officers at the American legion post 598 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. can walk veterans through information on the PACT Act, as well as any other claims or benefits they may be interested in.
