Residents invited to share input on El Paso hazard mitigation plan

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The city and county of El Paso will update its Hazard Mitigation Action Plan, and it's asking for residents' input.

The El Paso Office of Emergency Management said the goal of the plan is to reduce or eliminate long-term risks to people and property from known hazards through mitigation strategies.

The meeting is set for Nov. 5 so residents can learn more about the plan, give feedback and help find ways to reduce risks from natural and human-caused hazards in the community.

At the meeting, the city and county will give an overview of the project from OEM and H2O Partners, Inc., a consultant to the project.

You can attend the in person on Nov. 5 at the Dorris Van Doren Public Library (551 Redd Rd.) at 6 p.m. If you can't make it to the meeting, the OEM shared a survey residents can fill out to still make their voices heard. Find the survey here.
