Gov. Abbott and O’Rourke to face off in televised debate

EL PASO, Texas -- Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) and his Democratic opponent Beto O'Rourke will face off in a televised debate Friday at 6 p.m. Mountain Standard Time.

The two candidates are set to take the stage at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg.

Abbott is clearly favored to win, leading O'Rourke by 7.3 points, according to analysis from poll aggregator FiveThirtyEight.

Election day is November 8. Early voting starts October 24.
