Active cases dip below 1,000 in El Paso; 2 additional virus deaths

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The El Paso Health Department reported two coronavirus-related deaths, and 53 new cases Friday morning.

El Paso County's pandemic death toll now stands at 2,615.

The victims were identified as:

1 – male in his 60s

1 – male in his 70s

The number of known active cases now stands at 999, the fewest since June 19, 2020.

Since the start of the pandemic, El Paso has had 136,028 confirmed cases and 132,323 reported recoveries.
