EL PASO, Texas -- A 17-year-old boy was found suffering from a gunshot wound early Wednesday morning in west El Paso, according to El Paso police.

Investigators say they received a call about a car crash and shots fired at 3:31 a.m. around the 6900 block of Canyon View, near Coronado High School.

Police say a witness told officers that passengers of a Silver Nissan Murano that had crashed into a bus sign exited the car, shot a weapon, then rand towards a home.

Police say they found a 17-year-old with a gunshot wound inside that home.

Police say the 17-year-old was taken to University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries; police say the teenager did not "desire prosecution."
