Texas Department of Public Safety suspends agent assigned to El Paso after arrest

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- A 38-year-old special agent with the Texas Department of Public Safety has been suspended following his arrest by the El Paso Police Department, according to DPS officials.

Jesse Bennett was arrested Monday and charged with assault causing bodily injury/family violence, according to officials.

A DPS spokesperson says Bennett started with DPS in 2010 and is assigned to the El Paso area.
