Verbal argument at desert party led to 15-year-old boy’s deadly shooting in Horizon City

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA)- A verbal argument at a desert party in Horizon City preceded the deadly shooting of a 15-year-old boy Sunday morning, according to investigators.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says the argument was between two men, who remain unknown. Officials say one of the men pulled out a handgun and fired several rounds. Officials have the victim's identity but are not releasing his name.

The victim's family, however, is identifying him as 15-year-old Ryan Romero, a student at Bel Air High School.

No suspect has been positively identified, according to investigators.

The El Paso Sheriff's Office is asking for tips from anyone who attended the party or knew about the incident.
