85-year-old pedestrian hit by car, seriously injured in Central El Paso

Update (January 24, 2024): El Paso Police say an 85-year-old man was seriously injured in the collision.

Special Traffic Investigators found that the driver of the car that hit the man was traveling west on Edgemere.

When the car entered the intersection of Sioux, it hit the man in the crosswalk. Police say that despite being in the crosswalk, the pedestrian did not have the right of way and crossed against the light. Police say the driver was unable to avoid hitting the man.


EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- A pedestrian was taken to the hospital Tuesday night after being by a car in Central El Paso, according to police.

It happened just after 7 p.m. at the intersection of Edgemere Boulevard and Sioux Dr.

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries.

Special Traffic investigators were called out.

Police have not said if the driver or the pedestrian was at fault.
