Watch Live: Border Patrol Celebrates Centennial with Parade in El Paso

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Border Patrol is celebrating its centennial with a parade in downtown El Paso. You can watch live coverage of the parade here. It is happening from 9 to 11 AM today.

With overĀ 45 different agencies and 350 participants, it was all hands on deck for the special celebration.

Many came together in support of Border Patrol agents in the region, and to remember those who have fallen in the line of duty.Ā

"It means the world. It means it means the world to the men and women that are still doing this job every day," said Gabriel Acosta, El Pasoan.

"In my 21 years of career, I have never felt so heart warmed, you know, by the community. A very huge welcome that it was, and it's amazing to see our community be a part of us," said Wendi Lee, Border Patrol Agent. "Most of our Border Patrol agents that are stationed here in El Paso are from El Paso, Texas, and have been part of the community, have gone to school here, their kids are involved in sports, their parents are also from here, from El Paso. So to see the community come together and support us like that means a lot."

Agents encourage community members to join the department. For more information on how to apply, click here.
