El Paso County Elections Department to host vote-by-mail information sessions

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) - The El Paso County Elections Department will host vote-by-mail information sessions throughout September to educate voters before November's midterm elections at senior centers throughout the city.

All sessions will be from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on the following dates:

• Pavo Real Senior Center, located at 9311 Alameda Avenue on Thursday, September 10.
• Wellington Chew Senior Center located at 4430 Maxwell Avenue on Monday, September 14.
• Jesse Moreno Happiness Senior Center located at 563 North Carolina Drive on Wednesday, September 23.
• San Juan Senior Center, located at 5701 Tamburo Court on Tuesday, September 29.

These sessions will educate voters on who qualifies to vote by mail as well as how to apply for voting by mail, in addition to important dates in the process according to the Elections Department.

The State of Texas has limited who is eligible to vote by mail to those over 65 years old, those with a disability, those expected to give birth within three weeks before or after Election Day, those scheduled to be outside of El Paso County on Election Day, and those in jail or those who've been involuntarily committed.

Sessions are open to the public for anyone qualified to attend for additional knowledge of what is required for voting by mail and the process of returning a mail-in ballot.
