MEXICO CITY (AP) — Three foreign residents have been confirmed among the 47 dead from Hurricane Otis as the search for the missing focused on submerged boats that sunk in the storm. Mexico’s navy secretary said 29 boats were known to have sunk in Acapulco Bay and a crane would be used to lift the boats. Continuing reports have indicated some crew members were aboard boats during the storm. Acapulco is known for its abundance of expensive yachts and cheap tour boats that carry tourists around the bay. Otis grew to Category 5 intensity so fast that people had little time to prepare.
