KVIA

Family bonds can be frayed when children attend rival colleges of their parents.

El Paso families are no different.

Guillermo Cintron has a daughter at UTEP who is a manager with the football team and a son who played in the Red Raiders Goin Band and is currently finishing his degree at Texas Tech.

It would be completely understandable if Christmas dinner might be a little tense.

Cintron surprisingly said, “I have my daughter at UTEP and my son at Tech. Its a house united, not a house divided.”

Lindsey Resignato who attended UTEP and is now a part of the Texas Tech program.

She made her own shirt that displayed her split loyalties.

The UTEP Miner alum said, “I love both teams. Im from El Paso but you know, we gotta wreck um!”

Texas Tech took the win easily 38 to 3. The Miners though were not alone at Jones Stadium that evening.
