UTEP men’s basketball team to host Texas Tech in ‘El Paso Strong’ charity game

The UTEP men’s basketball team is doing its part to support the victims of the El Paso shooting.

The team will host the national runner-up Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday Oct. 12 at the Don Haskins Center in an exhibition game.

All of the proceeds will be donated to the GECU Foundation that has been set up to support the victims of the mass shooting that took place Aug. 3.

Tickets for the #ElPasoStrong exhibition are just $10 with general admission with first-come, first-served seating.

“I’ve got great respect for [Texas Tech coach] Chris Beard,” UTEP coach Rodney Terry said in a news release “He has done a phenomenal job. When you go up against his teams, you know that they’re going to be well prepared and defensive minded. We’re excited about facing one of the best teams in the country.”
