EP Locomotive gain 3 more points in playoff race, El Paso defeats Fresno FC, 2-1

With a push to make the playoffs, the El Paso Locomotive are peaking at the right time of the season.

Wednesday night at Southwest University Park, the Locomotive tacked on 3 more points to their total after defeating Fresno FC, 2-1.

Entering the night, El Paso sat in 9th place of the USL standings.

Only the top ten teams make the playoffs, so there really is no room for error for the Locomotive.

The win over Fresno FC bumps the Locomotive to 7th place of the USL standings.

The first goal of the night came in the 53rd minute from Locomotive defender Chiro Ntoko, his first goal of the season.

Fresno FC would answer to tie the game at 1-1, but just when the game looked like it would end in a draw, El Paso’s Jerome Kiesewetter would score the deciding goal 2 minutes into stoppage time.

With only 4 games left to play this season, the Locomotive now hit the road to take on Reno on Saturday.
