NMSU takes down Arkansas Pine Bluff; former UTEP Miner Evan Gilyard makes NMSU debut

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico -- It was a win that came easy for the NMSU Aggies Wednesday night at the Pan American Center.

NMSU defeated the Arkansas Pine Bluff Golden Lions by a final score of 65-40.

Ivan Aurrecoechea led the way in scoring for the Aggies with 19 points.

Tuesday night was also the debut for former UTEP Miner Evan Gilyard.

Gilyard transferred from UTEP following the 2018-2019 season, and on Wednesday was granted a transfer waiver to begin playing for the Aggies immediately.

He scored three points for the Aggies in his return to the court.

The win improves NMSU's record to 7-6 on the season.

Aggies will now hit the road for a game against Mississippi State on Sunday.
