NMSU baseball defeats Seattle in opening game of WAC Tournament, 7-5

MESA, Arizona - It couldn't have been a better start for the NMSU baseball team.

Wednesday, in Mesa, Arizona, the Aggies defeated Seattle University, 7-5, in their opening game of the WAC Tournament.

NMSU entered the tournament as a 4th seed, while the Seattle Redhawks were a 5th seed.

With the Aggies trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the 5th, NMSU would retake the lead following a 2-run double by NMSU's Kevin Jimenez.

The Aggies would tack on 3 more runs to secure the victory.

NMSU will next face the number one seed, Grand Canyon University, Thursday at 8 p.m. MTN.
