Community Champions: National Signing Day 2023

EL PASO, Texas - Wednesday was National Signing Day, and several Borderland athletes put pen to paper as they begin their college journey.

Canutillo High School star running back LJ Martin signed with Brigham Young University.

Martin had originally committed to Stanford, but due to coaching changes at Stanford, Martin reopened his recruitment and chose BYU instead.

Over at Andress High School, football athlete Malcolm Anderson signed with Army.

Anderson is a phenomenal two-way player who will fit in nicely in Army's running attack.

Franklin wide receiver Beau Sparks signed with Utah Tech out of the WAC, while Pebble Hills wide receiver Jalile Bost signed with UTEP.

For all their accomplishments, the Borderland athletes who signed their letters of intent Wednesday are this week's Community Champions.

Community Champions is sponsored by Albertsons and the El Paso Community Foundation.
