Thursday high school football: Franklin back in win column; Gadsden falls to Goddard

EL PASO, Texas - Week 5 of the high school football season kicked off Thursday night.

There were two games in the Borderland.

At the Socorro Student Activities Complex, the Franklin Cougars got a dominate win against the Socorro Bulldogs, 52-24.

It was a nice bounce back for a Franklin team that was coming off their first loss of the season.

The Cougars improved to 4-1 on the season, 2-1 in district play.

Across state lines in New Mexico, the Gadsden Panthers played host to the Goddard Rockets.

Goddard would come away with the win by a final score of 35-7.

Gadsden falls to 4-2 on their season.
