DALLAS, Texas - UTEP’s Daniela Chipchase was named the Conference USA Women’s Golfer of the Week presented by Blenders Eyewear on Wednesday by the league office.

Participating in the 10th tournament of her collegiate career at the Tulane Classic presented by Chad Brownstein, Chipchase earned her first top-10 finish, tying for 10th in a field featuring three top-100 players and five top-100 teams.

She capped the tournament with a 12-over par 228 at the challenging English Turn Golf & Country Club, highlighted by a 72 in the final round on Tuesday in which she was one of only three players to fire even-par or better rounds.

As a team, UTEP finished fourth, marking the fifth top-five result for the Miners in six competitions this season.

Chipchase was effective in limiting the impact of the difficult par 4 holes, tying for fifth across the whole field with a 7-over par tally on such holes.

This is the first C-USA Golfer of the Week honor for Chipchase in her career.

The Miners return to action on Feb. 27-28 at the GCU Invitational in Phoenix.
