UTEP men’s golf finishes 10th at C-USA Championship

TEXARKANA, Ark. – The UTEP men’s golf team (314-294-308—916) finished in 10th place at the 2023 Conference USA Men’s Golf Championship at Texarkana Country Club (par 72, 6969) in Texarkana, Ark., on Wednesday.

The Miners (+52) finished 15 strokes behind WKU (314-302-285—901).

Defending champion Charlotte (298-285-289—872), Middle Tennessee (293-287-293—873), LA Tech (296-287-293—876) and North Texas (296-293-289—878) will move on to match play on Thursday.

UAB (292-296-291—879) placed fifth, while FAU (300-293-301—894) and Rice (310-284—300) finished tied for sixth. UTSA (298-299-300—897) finished eighth. 

Max Schliesing (78-72-72—222) moved up eight spots to tied 18th, and finished as the top Miner.

Jacob Presutti (79-75-76—230) placed tied 39th.

Kristjan Burkelca (78-75-80—233) and Marcus Khaw (79-72-82—233) finished tied 42nd, and Greg Holmes (79-78-80—237) placed 46th.

LA Tech’s James Swash (75-71-68—214) moved up three spots to first after a stellar third round.

Middle Tennessee’s Owen Stamper (73-70-73—216) sits in second and North Texas’ Vicente Marzillo (71-76-70—217) is third.
