New recruits join UTEP beach volleyball team

EL PASO, Texas - Head Coach Ben Wallis has announced two additions for the 2024 beach volleyball season.

UTEP is bringing in freshman Adriana Oporto and Power 5 transfer, Summer McDonough. 

Summer McDonough 

Hometown: Tucson, Arizona  

High School: Pusch Ridge Christian Academy 

Previous School: Arizona 

Accomplishments and Accolades:  

  • Perfect individual win record as a Wildcat  
  • named All-Region First Team all four years in high school 
  • two-time all-region Offensive Player of the Year (junior & senior seasons) 
  • named Southern Arizona Player of the Year (junior) 

Adriana Oporto 

Hometown: Madrid, Spain  

High School: Altitude Academies 

Accomplishments and Accolades:  

  • Presidential Honors Award (2015) ...Player of the Year (2019)
