One-on-one with UTEP’s Dana Dimel; Miners prepare for final road game of season

EL PASO, Texas - The UTEP Miners will be looking to finish the season strong as they prepare for their final two games of the 2023 season.

This Saturday, the Miners will pay a visit to Middle Tennessee, the team's final road game this season.

With a 3-7 overall record and a 2-4 record in C-USA play, the Miners are simply playing for pride at this point of the year.

UTEP's hopes to go to a bowl game were dashed after the Miners lost at home against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.

Since that loss to WKU, the Miners are fresh off a bye week and they'll look to get a win against another conference opponent who is struggling this season.

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders are also 3-7 this season, and have the same conference record as the Miners at 2-4.

ABC-7 spoke with UTEP head coach Dana Dimel as he looks ahead to Saturday's game against the Blue Raiders.

He also discussed the team's struggles this season, and what they have to play for as the 2023 season comes to a close.
