WATCH: Police say no injuries, and no confirmed sighting of subject with gun, Bel Air being cleared

UPDATE 3:00 p.m.: El Paso police say they'll take any threat seriously. Parents were briefed at a staging area. There was no confirmed sighting according to El Paso Police Dept. Spokesman Enrique Carrillo. The campus will be cleared, and there have been no reports of injuries according to Carrillo. Carrillo said police will respond with a level proportionate to the threat. But in light of what happened in Uvalde, they are not taking anything lightly.

UPDATE 2:35 p.m.: El Paso Police say a text message began circulating at 1:16 pm. of an armed subject in or around Bel Air.

Police say there has been no confirmed incident at the school, but the school is on lockdown.

Parents are asked to go to Santa Monica and Venado. Police are stressing there is no confirmed incident, all of this has stemmed from a text message.

UPDATE: According to dispatch, the call stems from text messages. The response started after an initial call at 1:30 p.m.

EL PASO, Texas – Bel Air High School is being cleared after reports of a subject with a gun, according to El Paso Police Dept. Spokesman Enrique Carrillo.

ABC-7 has a crew on the way to the scene.

ABC-7 has reached out to YISD spokesman Dan Martinez, but we have not yet heard back.
