Relevant Experience

For nearly 20 years, I have dedicated my career to serving families and children through family and pediatric medicine. As a healthcare professional, business owner, and commercial and residential real estate investor, I bring a unique combination of leadership, financial responsibility, and firsthand understanding of the challenges facing our community.

My experience in healthcare has taught me the importance of listening, making informed decisions, managing resources, and advocating for individuals and families. I have witnessed firsthand how access to healthcare, economic opportunity, housing, and essential services directly impacts the quality of life of our residents.

As a business owner and investor, I understand budgeting, financial accountability, economic development, job creation, and the importance of responsible growth. I know what it takes to manage operations, make difficult decisions, and ensure that resources are used effectively.

These experiences have prepared me to approach county government with both compassion and fiscal responsibility. I understand that the decisions made by Commissioners Court affect families, businesses, neighborhoods, and future generations.

I am not a politician. I am a healthcare professional, business owner, and community stakeholder who understands the importance of responsible leadership, accountability, and results.

I want to bring my real-world experience to El Paso County to ensure that Precinct 4 receives the representation, investment, and opportunities our community deserves.

I’ve spent nearly 20 years changing lives one patient and one family at a time. Now, I want to make a difference on a larger scale.

Personal

My journey began as the daughter of hardworking Mexican immigrants who taught me that success is not measured solely by what we accomplish, but by the difference we make in the lives of others.

As a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, I have dedicated nearly two decades to serving underserved and low-income families. I’ve witnessed firsthand the challenges our community faces and learned that meaningful change requires compassion, leadership, and action.

As a business owner, employer, and real estate investor, I understand the importance of fiscal responsibility, economic opportunity, responsible development, and creating an environment where families and businesses can thrive.

I’m running for El Paso County Commissioner, Precinct 4, because I believe my experience has prepared me to serve our community in a greater capacity. I want to bring practical leadership, fresh perspectives, and a results-driven approach to county government.

My goal is simple: to listen, lead with integrity, make responsible decisions, and ensure our communities have opportunities to prosper.

Healthcare has given me the privilege of improving lives individually. Public service offers me the opportunity to improve lives across entire communities.

I’m running to continue a lifetime of service, bring meaningful leadership to Commissioners Court, and help build a stronger future for El Paso County.

What is your position on data centers?

I support economic growth, innovation, and opportunities that bring meaningful investment to El Paso County. However, that growth must NEVER come at the expense of our residents, our natural resources, or our taxpayers.

As a business owner and real estate investor, I understand the value of economic development. But I also understand that responsible growth requires accountability.

My priority is ensuring that data centers DO NOT place additional financial burdens on hardworking families through increased water or electricity rates, strained infrastructure, or the misuse of taxpayer dollars.

I believe developers should be responsible for the infrastructure and utility demands their projects create, without passing those costs on to our community. Any proposed development should undergo a thorough evaluation of its long-term economic and environmental impact.

My position is simple: I welcome investment in El Paso, but our residents should NOT be expected to subsidize private profits.

Economic development should strengthen our community, not make it more expensive for families to live here. I will advocate for transparency, fiscal responsibility, and development that puts El Paso residents first.

What would you do differently to reduce property taxes?

As a homeowner, business owner, and real estate investor, I understand firsthand how rising property taxes affect hardworking families, seniors, and small businesses throughout El Paso County.

My approach is simple: Before asking taxpayers for more money, government must demonstrate that it is spending the money it already collects responsibly.

As County Commissioner, I would advocate for greater budget transparency, regular reviews of county spending, and identifying inefficiencies, unnecessary expenditures, and opportunities to streamline operations without compromising essential services.

I would prioritize responsible budgeting and work to reduce the county’s property tax rate whenever financially feasible. I would also support evaluating available tax relief options for homeowners, particularly seniors and residents living on fixed incomes.

Economic development must also be part of the solution. By encouraging responsible commercial investment and expanding our tax base, we can help distribute the cost of essential services more broadly rather than continually increasing the burden on existing property owners.

I believe government should operate with the same financial discipline expected of families and businesses.

El Paso families should not have to choose between paying their property taxes and meeting their everyday needs.

My commitment is to protect taxpayers, eliminate waste, prioritize essential services, and ensure every dollar collected delivers real value to our community.

What’s your position on the Deck Plaza project?

I support economic development and projects that improve El Paso’s quality of life. However, I DO NOT support using additional taxpayer dollars to fund the Downtown Deck Plaza. If private investors believe in this project, I welcome their investment, but our taxpayers should not be responsible for financing it.

My concern is not with progress. My concern is with priorities.

We have communities throughout El Paso County, including Socorro, Montana Vista, Vinton, Anthony, and Canutillo, facing documented infrastructure challenges involving flooding, drainage, and access to essential water and wastewater services.

Meanwhile, families in Northeast El Paso continue to need additional parks, outdoor recreational spaces, and facilities where children can play and families can gather.

As a healthcare professional, business owner, and taxpayer, I believe responsible leadership means addressing essential needs before committing public resources to costly discretionary projects.

We must prioritize infrastructure, flood prevention, public safety, and improvements that directly impact the daily lives of our residents.

I am not against progress. I am against misplaced priorities.

Before investing taxpayer dollars in another major downtown attraction, we must ensure that communities throughout our county are receiving the basic infrastructure and services they deserve.

El Paso deserves responsible growth, equitable investment, and leadership that puts the needs of our families first.

What are your plans to ensure transparency and make sure you are accessible to constituents?

Transparency and accessibility should not be campaign promises; they should be the foundation of public service.

For nearly 20 years as a healthcare provider, I have built my career on listening, earning trust, and being accountable to the families I serve. I believe elected officials should be held to those same standards.

As County Commissioner, I plan to establish regular community town halls throughout Precinct 4, including evenings and weekends, to ensure working families have opportunities to participate. I will maintain an open-door policy, provide accessible communication channels, and ensure constituents receive timely responses to their concerns.

I will advocate for greater transparency in county spending by making budget information, major expenditures, and decisions easier for residents to access and understand. I also plan to provide regular public updates on county projects, infrastructure improvements, and the progress being made on community priorities.

I believe in being present in our neighborhoods, not just during election season, but throughout my term.

My commitment is simple: You deserve to know how your tax dollars are spent, why decisions are made, and how to reach the person representing you.

I want to bring government closer to the people it serves, because effective leadership begins with listening and accountability.

I won’t just ask for your trust. I’ll work very hard to earn it.

What makes you the best candidate?

I bring a unique combination of professional experience, proven leadership, financial responsibility, and a lifelong commitment to serving El Paso County.

As the daughter of Mexican immigrants and a first-generation college graduate, I understand the value of hard work, sacrifice, and opportunity. For nearly 20 years, I have dedicated my healthcare career to serving families, particularly those in underserved communities.

As the owner of two successful medical practices and a commercial and residential real estate investor, I have firsthand experience managing budgets, creating jobs, overseeing operations, and making responsible financial decisions. These are skills directly relevant to managing county resources and protecting taxpayer dollars.

For nearly 30 years, I have also participated in charitable organizations, health fairs, church activities, and community service.

Having lived in Socorro, Northeast El Paso, East El Paso, and West El Paso, I understand that different communities have different needs, but all deserve responsible leadership and equitable access to opportunities.

My priorities include fiscal accountability, essential infrastructure, flood prevention, responsible economic development, and transparent, accessible government.

I believe leadership is demonstrated through actions, accountability, and results. My professional and personal experiences have prepared me to bring practical knowledge, compassion, and sound judgment to Commissioners Court.

I have spent my career serving families, managing businesses, and investing in our community. I am prepared to bring that experience to county government.
