ABC-7 First Alert: Some severe storms today, much colder tomorrow

Good Sunday morning! Today is the culmination of this week's ABC-7 First Alert with the cold front finally arriving this evening. We will have the lifting mechanisms of daytime heating, a low-pressure system in our vicinity, and a cold front moving in from the east. All of those factors will help our severe storm potential (storms with 1in diameter size hail or greater, gusty outflow winds, heavy downpours, and isolated flooding).

This morning will be pleasant and safe, but storms will be expected all afternoon and evening. It does look like there will be some breaks in the rain, but it's always a good idea to stay weather aware as we don't normally see a marginal severe weather risk in our area.

Today and tomorrow our temperatures are going to drop- today into the mid to low 70s and tomorrow into the mid to low 60s. It will be the coldest air of the season so get those blankets out! Stay safe!
